  1. The easiest way to choose your VRS interpreter language is by turning on our language toggle feature. This allows you to choose the VRS language for every call right from your dial screen.
  2. You can set a default VRS language for each of your contacts. When you open one of your saved contacts, you can choose a language preference in their settings that VRS calls will default to when you call that person.
  3. When a Sorenson interpreter picks up your VRS call, you can ask them for a Spanish-speaking interpreter and they’ll transfer your call if necessary.
  4. In you have Spanish language features enabled for your Sorenson app or videophone, you can choose to make a Spanish VRS call and then tell the interpreter the number you want to call.
When you call 911 through VRS, we’ll move your call to the front of the line. When you tell the interpreter your emergency, they’ll ask your location so you can confirm you’re either at your home address or you’re away from home. They will relay information between you and the emergency services, staying on the line with you until you get help.
