Do I need a Sorenson account to use Sorenson VRS Español?
Yes, you must have a Sorenson account to use Sorenson VRS Español. However, once you sign up for a Sorenson VRS number, you can make a call to a hearing person through Sorenson VRS Español using any product, even products from other VRS providers.
How do I choose a Spanish-speaking interpreter for my VRS calls?
You have multiple options for selecting interpreter language for your Sorenson VRS calls:
- The easiest way to choose your VRS interpreter language is by turning on our language toggle feature. This allows you to choose your VRS language for every call right from your dial screen.
- You can set a default VRS language for each of your contacts. When you open one of your saved contacts, you can choose a language preference that VRS calls will default to when you call that person.
- When a Sorenson interpreter picks up your VRS call, you can ask them for a Spanish-speaking interpreter, and they’ll transfer your call if necessary.
- In you have Spanish language features enabled for your Sorenson app or videophone, you can dial Sorenson VRS Español from your Contact list.
- You can dial Sorenson VRS Español directly by calling +1 (866) 987-7528 on the dialpad of any VRS product, including those from other VRS providers.
Do I need a Sorenson account to use the Spanish features?
Yes. Sorenson’s Spanish features — like language toggle and Spanish UI — are only available on Sorenson endpoints (Lumina VP and ntouch).
How do emergency 911 calls work through Sorenson VRS?
When you call 911 through VRS, we’ll move your call to the front of the line. When you tell the interpreter your emergency, they’ll ask your location so you can confirm you’re either at your home address or you’re away from home. They will relay information between you and the emergency services, staying on the line with you until you get help.
