CaptionCall Features and Benefits
CaptionCall by Sorenson
CaptionCall is the best call captioning solution for home phone. Veterans and service members who sign up for CaptionCall receive our complimentary CaptionCall phone as part of the service. It works like a regular phone, but has a large touchscreen that displays scrolling text of their conversation in English or Spanish for clear caption phone calls.
Users can get CaptionCall at home through your landline phone service, high-speed internet, or smartphone mobile service.
Trained captioning agents work with advanced voice recognition technology to ensure the accuracy of call captioning.
CaptionCall works just like a regular landline phone except for the option to use live caption for calls.
There’s an option to adjust the CaptionCall phone to specific hearing needs for frequency amplification and volume.
Why is there no cost for CaptionCall?
Sorenson’s call captioning services are part of a federally funded program for people with hearing loss who need captioning to use the phone effectively. The FCC collects the funding from telecommunications companies — often passed on through TRS fees on consumer phone bills — to cover the costs. Call captioning is one of the federal programs military service members and Veterans may be entitled to.
