Referring Veterans and Service Members for Call Captioning

You can help connect the community you serve with no-cost solutions to improve their quality of life, social connections, and confidence in personal and professional phone conversations. If they need captions to use the phone effectively because of their hearing loss, they’re eligible for CaptionCall by Sorenson for home phone captioning. An introduction to CaptionCall is one of the free continuing education opportunities we offer to health providers. When you sign up to be a CaptionCall provider, we’ll assign you an account number to use for each referral, then we’ll take it from there and walk your clients through our full-service enrollment:
  • We’ll reach out directly to coordinate installation.
  • We’ll determine the best way to connect. CaptionCall is the only home phone captioning service that can accommodate households that don’t have high speed internet without a second phone line.
  • We’ll deliver and install the CaptionCall phone and provide training, all at no cost — part of our renowned Red Carpet Service.

CaptionCall Mobile for Veterans

Why is there no cost for CaptionCall?

Sorenson’s call captioning services are part of a federally funded program for people with hearing loss who need captioning to use the phone effectively. The FCC collects the funding from telecommunications companies — often passed on through TRS fees on consumer phone bills — to cover the costs. Call captioning is one of the federal programs military service members and Veterans may be entitled to.
