Charles Daley has been a CaptionCall Agent since July 2012. Like Julie, and Anna, Daley sought a position where he could have a meaningful impact on the lives of others during his job search 11 years ago. “When I read the description of the position, I was intrigued by what CaptionCall did as well as the people they served.”
Daley says, “knowing I get to spend my time making a profoundly positive impact in the lives of our customers” is the best part of his job. “Whether it’s assisting in relaying medical information, maintaining contact with friends and family, or one of the many other reasons our customers use our service, I feel a great sense of purpose in knowing that I made someone’s day at least a little bit easier.”

When it comes to connecting with customers, Daley says he enjoys the slower phone calls when he can tell that a customer is waiting for captions to show up on their phone before responding. “Despite how long I’ve been doing this, it’s these calls that resonate the most with me when I get them because they remind me just how vital the service we provide is and why giving the most accurate captions possible is of the utmost importance.”
Daley has a traditional, tried and true, outlook on the type of customer service he provides:
“I’m a firm believer in the notion of treating others in the manner that you would like to be treated. I think what helps me the most at my job is to think about the kind of service I would expect if my grandparents, mom, or even myself, relied on captioning to communicate – and provide that level of service on every call.”
