Every now and then someone says something, and it takes everything in me not to laugh along with them.”When she’s not captioning, Ericka enjoys spending time with her dog, Axelotl. Not only does a happy dog instantly brighten Ericka’s day, but Axelotl actually saved her from a potentially serious health event.
“One night, I was struggling with some pretty intense pain. I had wanted to get up and go upstairs to the couch, but he pushed me back down and would not let me leave my bed. It’s a good thing he did, because I was so dizzy and disoriented that I could have easily fallen and hit my head, but Axel made sure I stayed put until I could move safely.”

Ericka is also an avid cosplayer. She creates unique and detailed competition costumes and is currently learning to use foam and other materials to make props that enhance the effect.
“I love to add little details to help bring the characters to life, small things like using different textured fabrics or customizing buttons. I also enjoy making my own wigs, which while time consuming, lets me shape the hair however I want.”
