Synergy Interpreting Education Program
Interpreter education programs can partner with Sorenson for resources, real world insights, and skills development to prepare students for ASL interpreting careers.
Synergy partnership benefits
Partnership through the Synergy program is an opportunity for interpreting program faculty and students to benefit from the expertise of the team that trains more professional ASL interpreters than any other program in the world.
Faculty resources
Faculty have access to regular networking and resource-sharing webinars with other interpreting program faculty members. Sorenson also provides a specialized, comprehensive curriculum for VRS interpreting.
Student observation
Interpreting students get a feel for working as an interpreter — including an introduction to VRS interpreting — by observing VRS interpreters processing live calls (if locally available).
Skill development
Interpreting students can participate in webinars on the interpreting process, linguistic features of ASL and English, assessment prep and interview skills. Group discussions are also available for students who are Codas, Deaf students, Spanish speakers, and students of color.

Students observe the reality of professional ASL interpreting (where available).

Classroom materials to enhance instruction on video relay interpreting.
