If you are already a fan of Big Brother or The Great British Baking Show, you have extra reason to be excited for the new season of the reality shows. For the first time (for both shows!), they’ll have a Deaf contestant.
Big Brother announced just before the first episode that Matt Klotz would be on the show. You may know him from the 2013 and 2017 Deaflympics, winning multiple medals both times. Big Brother is currently airing it’s 25th season and finally has its first Deaf cast member.
The Great British Baking Show hasn’t revealed the identity of its first Deaf contestant for the upcoming season. British news is reporting that the hosts of the Great British Baking Show have hired a BSL teacher and are learning the basics so they can communicate with the Deaf baker…and some are picking it up quicker than others 😆. Wouldn’t it be cool if they had Sorenson Express?
We are looking forward to seeing who the Deaf contestant is and we’re also curious to see how well the hosts have learned their BSL. The new season starts later this year on Netflix. Keep an eye out for it.
We wish both contestants luck.
